At a Special Voters Meeting held on Sunday, September 20, 2026 the following information was shared and motions approved:

• We received a Lutheran Foundation grant for $300,000 for the Ministry Expansion. A grant for phase 2 was requested and sent in prior to September 1, 2026 and we should hear back sometime in mid December 2026.

• As of September 17, 2026, we have pledges in the amount of $1,707,640 and have collected $532,654 of the pledged amount.

• Planning to begin the project in October and it should be completed in roughly 12 months.

• Building plans were displayed on the smart screen.  Changes include:

  • New drive between the church and cemetery to access the back parking lot.

  • Moving the canopy (covered drive) to the east side of the building.

  • Need a small retention pond due to extra pavement.

  • No changes to the septic system.

  • Sacristy changes

  • Atrium/courtyard will be enclosed with a new entry into the Fellowship Hall

  • New bathrooms.

  • Narthex will be expanded.

  • Elevator from basement to balcony added.

  • Balcony will be expanded in size.

  • New louvers for the Bell tower.

  • Curb faced side walk added along Berthaud Road

  • Phased approach:

    • Atrium/Sacristy/Reception Office - Phase 1

    • Restroom and Hallway  - Phase 2A

    • Narthex/Sanctuary access - Phase 2B

• Discussed April 2026 motion where the Voters approved $3.1 million for pre-construction and construction services from CME. The new updated cost is $3.7 million.  

• It was moved and seconded to increase our “not to exceed” cost to CME from $3.1 to 3.7 million. The motion carried.

• It was moved and seconded to increase our “not to exceed” the LCEF loan from $1.3 to $1.6 million. The motion carried.

• Groundbreaking will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at noon.
